Hammond Park

Kids love going to Hammond Park (click for map) and checking out the playgrounds. The park has two playgrounds; one is more suitable for younger or special needs children, and the other one is geared toward older kids.

There is  also a sandbox, where kids can build sand castles, while you rest at the picnic pavilion nearby. The smaller playground has three slides, two of which are tunnels.

The multi-level towers are fun for kids to climb up and under as they make their way from one end of the playground to the other. The ground is rubber, so it’s a soft landing pad for those who may fall down.

The bigger playground is a great place for kids to play with friends. The tunnel slide, twisty slide, rings, climbing net, swinging bridge and poles to slide down can be an imaginary pirate ship, castle or fire station.

All told, Hammond Park encompasses 13.3 acres and is in the heart of Sandy Springs at the corner of Hammond Drive and Glenridge Drive at 705 Hammond Drive (directions).
