Sandy Springs Police Charity Invitational Golf Tournament

The Cherokee Town and Country Club will host the Sandy Springs Police Charity Invitational Golf Tournament on March 26th . Prizes will be awarded to teams placing first, second and third. In addition, the day’s activities include competitions such as Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive contests.
Sponsorship opportunities are available through the Magnolia Golf Group which is organizing the event. You can find out more on their website.
Registration & Practice Range Opens at 8am followed by the Shotgun Start at 10am. The awards reception will be held at 3pm. The format is a 4 person scramble with prizes for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd teams. There will also be longest drive and closest to the pin contests.
Proceeds from the Tournament benefit the Sandy Springs Benevolent Fund. The Benevolent Fund is a non-profit (501(c)3) organization and operates exclusively for charitable purposes. The Fund exists to foster and enhance the quality of life for members of the Sandy Springs Police Department, SSPD volunteers, Public Safety personnel, First Responders and their family members who are in need of financial support due to unforeseen circumstances or crisis. Donations to the Fund can be made on the Sandy Springs Police Department website.

Leadership Sandy Springs presents a family-oriented outdoor movie series serving the Sandy Springs community. The movies are free and take place in the heart of Sandy Springs on the terraced lawn of Sandy Springs United Methodist Church’s Hitson Activity Center. Food, concessions, and local entertainment are offered before each movie, beginning at dusk. Past crowds have numbered 1,000 to 1,500.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to sit on the lawn.

This year’s Sandy Springs Festival will be held September 25-26, 2010. This year’s festival includes the Doug Kessler Lightning 5K/10K race, an artist’s market, business and civic expo, children’s park, Porsche North America’s Collector Car Show, Kiwanis Pet Parade, heritage crafters, live entertainment, food court, Whole Foods Heritage Homegrown Market, Saint Joseph’s Hospital health and wellness area and more.

The Sandy Springs Festival is proud to be a pet-friendly Festival!
The Sandy Springs Festival is a fundraiser for Heritage Sandy Springs, a non-profit organization dedicated to building community through preserving and promoting the historic and cultural identity of Sandy Springs. The City contracts with Heritage Sandy Springs for the operation of the park.
Sandy Springs Festival is held at Heritage Green, 6075 Sandy Springs Circle, Sandy Springs, Ga., next to City Walk and the surrounding area. Festival hours are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Shuttle service will provided by Cooper-Atlanta Transportation from Century Springs East and West Parking Lots located at the corner of Lake Forrest Drive and Hammond Drive to Sandy Springs Circle throughout the Festival weekend.
Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for youths aged 6-17 and children 5 and under are free.
