Great news. It appears that Santa is on schedule and is heading across the Atlantic Ocean as we write this. So it may be time to get the cookies and milk ready and get the kids tucked into their beds for the night. Santa is on his way to the Sandy Springs area, so be ready.
If you’re one of those people who have actually lit a fire in their fireplace in this warm weather, make sure you put it out before Santa arrives. He never likes it when his britches get singed.
Also, if you want to keep up to date on Santa’s progress, click here for the Santa Tracker.
And as an added bonus, you can now track Santa on your iPhone or Android phone. There’s an app for that!
Happy Holidays from the team here at AllAboutSandySprings.com.

New preliminary flood maps, known as Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs), have been released. The maps were developed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Federal Emergency Management Agency based on the latest digital mapping technology.
The new flood maps will show (on a property by property basis) the extent to which parcels are currently at risk for flooding, taking into account changes in topography, land use and drainage patterns. If the risk level for a property changes, flood insurance and building requirements change as well.
To learn more about the mapping process, how your flood risk may have changed, and the options available, you are encouraged to attend the Flood Risk Open House meetings hosted by the City of Sandy Springs. Representatives from the City of Sandy Springs, Georgia Department of Natural Resources and FEMA will be available at the meeting to help answer questions. Read more
