Roberts Realty Investors, Inc. Sells 11 Acre Parcel of Land

June 29, 2011 by

It looks like Sandy Springs might be getting another multi-family community sometime in the future. Roberts Realty Investors, Inc. recently announced that it has signed a contract to sell its 11-acre parcel of land located off of GA 400 and Northridge Road in Sandy Springs. The piece of land was purchased for a total of $5,363,789 or $24,381 per apartment unit. The company expects to close the sale by October 31, 2011, subject to customary due diligence and closing conditions.

Mr. Charles R. Elliott, the company’s CFO, stated: “Although we had planned to, and would have preferred to, develop and construct a multifamily community on the Northridge land parcel ourselves, we have not been able to obtain the necessary equity and construction financing. We concluded that it is in the best interest of the company and our shareholders to sell the Northridge land parcel to strengthen the Company’s balance sheet and provide it with increased liquidity.”

It’s great to see land selling in the Sandy Springs real estate market, which ideally means we’ll also be seeing new construction. As we hear more about this deal, we’ll keep you updated with the status.

With two successful restaurants under their belt, we can be assured that Cibo e Beve will be held to the same high standards and quality as we have come to expect.

Cibo e Beve literally means “food and drink” in Italian, which is an appropriate name since, come July, the restaurant will be serving up authentic Italian food and beverages. Chef Linda Harrell will be making everything from scratch, including pizzas, pastas, entrees and desserts. She will be using seasonal, locally grown and harvested ingredients, as well as some specialty items imported from Italy’s finest purveyors. In addition to the great Italian fare, Cibo E Beve will also feature a unique hand-crafted bar with homemade syrups, sodas and a collection of Italian and American wines.

While the food is the main appeal, patrons will love the inviting atmosphere, which includes a large chef’s table situated directly in front of the the open-air kitchen. Isn’t it refreshing to dine at a place where you can actually see the food being prepared?

Within five years, the Sandy Springs gymnastics program has grown by leaps and bounds from just 100 participants to in excess of 1,200 and now the coaching staff will see expansion too. The Sandy Springs gymnastics community welcomes husband and wife coaching team Gennadiy (“Coach G”) and Ina Korshunov. The pair joins the existing coaching staff and brings with them a combined 98 years of coaching experience of gymnasts at all skill levels and talents.

The Korshunovs came to Georgia in 1998 to share their talents and expertise with gymnasts. They coached at several other gyms until they decided to move to Sandy Springs to develop a strong base with recreational classes, additional teams and continue to compete successfully on the local, state, regional and national levels. The pair coached former Russian Olympian Elena Davydova.

According to Coach G, their coaching philosophy is very simple: know the children, find out what makes them “tick” and teach them not only gymnastics, but life lessons as well. But safety is always the first priority for the coaches and the gymnasts practicing and competing. Read more

The code used by SSFR will direct users to the Department’s web page: www.sandyspringsga.org/ssfr, where users can get the latest information on CPR and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes, fire guidelines and ordinances, to sign up for classes and more. To read a QR code with your smart phone, you’ll need a QR code reader application. Search your smart phone’s app store and you’ll find a variety of free readers.
